This page explains material connections between this site and merchants. It is intended to meet expectations under:
- UK — Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) / CAP Code rules on affiliate marketing and influencer advertising (clear, upfront labelling of commercial relationships).
- India — Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) influencer guidelines (prominent disclosure labels such as Advertisement / Ad / Sponsored / Affiliate where content is commercial communication).
- Amazon Associates — Operating Agreement disclosure language for Amazon.in and Amazon.co.uk (and any other Amazon locale later enrolled).
Contact for this site is email only.
Plain-language summary
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy through them, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. I also sell (or will sell) my own digital products (e.g. checklist / ebook via Payhip). Opinions are my own; I do not accept payment to invent fake reviews or sockpuppet accounts.
Amazon Associates
Required site statement (Operating Agreement)
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
This statement applies to Amazon.in (approved tracking ID in use) and to Amazon.co.uk once that programme is approved. Until UK approval, Amazon.co.uk product mentions must not use tracked Associate tags.
Additional clear & conspicuous labelling
Near product recommendations or /go/ short links that resolve to Amazon:
- Use a short label such as Ad, #ad, (affiliate), or (paid link) next to the link or in the same paragraph.
- Do not bury disclosure only in a footer or “About” page — the footer supplements, it does not replace, near-link disclosure.
- For social clips / Shorts / Reels that mention Amazon products, put the disclosure upfront (caption start or on-screen label), not only at the end.
Locale notes
| Locale | Programme | Disclosure reminder |
|---|---|---|
| India | Amazon.in Associates | Site statement above + ASCI-friendly labels on commercial posts |
| United Kingdom | Amazon.co.uk Associates | Site statement above + ASA-clear labelling |
Amazon.in Associates tracking ID in use: abhishekrhl-21. Amazon.co.uk Associates: pending (untagged UK URLs only — no UK tag until approved).
Other affiliate & partner programmes
When enrolled, the same rule applies: disclose the material connection near the recommendation.
| Programme / network | Typical products | Disclosure label examples |
|---|---|---|
| Payhip (own digital goods) | Free checklist / paid digital products | “I am the seller” / own-product notice |
| Other networks (Impact, etc.) | Mac / OSS / creator tools when enrolled | Ad / Affiliate / Sponsored |
Only link via /go/<slug> entries that exist in the site allow-list. Do not invent short links or ASINs.
UK ASA (summary for this site)
- Affiliate content is advertising when there is a commercial relationship.
- Labelling must be clear and upfront so an average consumer understands there is a commercial interest before they engage.
- “Ad”, “affiliate link”, or “I may earn a commission” is usually clearer than vague “partner” alone.
- Do not imply independent testing you did not perform.
India ASCI influencer guidelines (summary for this site)
When a post is commercial communication (paid, free product, discounted access, affiliate commission, or other material connection):
- Use an ASCI-permitted disclosure label upfront and prominent, e.g. Advertisement, Ad, Sponsored, Collaboration, Partnership, Affiliate, or platform native paid tags.
- Do not hide the label in a pile of hashtags or behind a “more” fold.
- Editorial posts with no material connection do not need an ad label — but affiliate links create a material connection.
Own products (Payhip)
Digital products sold via Payhip are my own. Pages that sell or strongly promote them should say so plainly, e.g.:
This product is written and sold by me. Purchases go to my Payhip checkout.
No sockpuppet reviews. No fake “customer” testimonials.
Synthetic / AI-assisted media
Where audio or video uses synthetic voice (e.g. local TTS), label that separately in the content or footer. That is in addition to affiliate disclosure, not a substitute.
How short links work
Tracked or curated outbound links use paths like /go/<slug>/. On GitHub Pages these are static HTML redirect pages generated from links.csv (GitHub Pages does not process Cloudflare _redirects). The destination may be an affiliate URL.
