Operator: Abhishek Kumar — [PLACEHOLDER: legal / trading name if different].
Site: https://abhishekrhl.github.io/.
Contact: [PLACEHOLDER: contact email].
This is a static blog hosted on GitHub Pages (free tier). It is intentionally small. Replace placeholders before relying on this as a public legal page.
What this site is
- Static HTML/CSS/JS built with Hugo and served by GitHub Pages.
- No user accounts, no comments system, no server-side database operated by me on this host.
- Some pages may deep-link to third parties (Amazon, Payhip, VPN/hosting vendors, etc.) via
/go/<slug>/redirect pages.
Data I collect directly
By default, this static site does not collect personal data through forms hosted on GitHub Pages.
If I later add a contact form, newsletter embed, or checkout:
| Feature | What may be collected | Where processed |
|---|---|---|
| Email newsletter | Email address, signup metadata | [PLACEHOLDER: Kit / beehiiv / other — not enabled yet] |
| Ebook checkout | Name, email, payment details | Payhip (merchant of record for digital goods) — see Payhip’s privacy policy |
| Contact email | Whatever you send me | My mailbox only |
I do not sell personal information.
Analytics (placeholder)
Status: not enabled at pack creation.
If analytics is added later, this section will name the tool and what it stores. Candidates under consideration (privacy-oriented first):
- [PLACEHOLDER: e.g. Fathom / Cloudflare Web Analytics / Plausible — pick one; note Plausible has no paid affiliate]
- Or none (rely on GitHub / registrar logs only)
Until a tool is live:
When Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is enabled, the site loads Google’s gtag.js and sends page-view / usage events to Google. IP anonymization follows GA4 defaults. You can opt out with Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by blocking the gtag script. Until
analyticsSiteIdis set in site config, no analytics script is served.
When enabled, update this page before deploying the script, including:
- Vendor name and privacy policy URL
- Whether cookies / local storage are used
- IP handling / EU-US transfer notes if relevant
- How to opt out (vendor tool or “do not track” behaviour)
GitHub Pages and GitHub may process connection metadata (IP, user agent, request path) under GitHub’s own privacy policy as the hosting provider. I do not control GitHub’s logs.
Cookies
- Essential: GitHub Pages / CDN may set technically necessary cookies; I do not set first-party tracking cookies in the default Hugo theme.
- Analytics / marketing cookies: none until the analytics section above is filled in.
- Third-party pages: clicking
/go/links lands you on other sites that set their own cookies (Amazon, Payhip, etc.). Their policies apply there.
Affiliate & commercial links
Outbound affiliate links may include tracking parameters (e.g. Associate tags, UTM, network click IDs) so merchants can attribute a sale. That attribution happens on the merchant’s systems after you leave this site. See also /disclosure/.
Children’s data
This site is not directed at children. I do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Retention
- Emails you send me: retained as long as needed to reply and keep a normal business record, then deleted or archived.
- Payhip / Amazon / other merchants: retention per their policies.
- Analytics (if added): per vendor retention settings — to be documented here.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g. UK GDPR / EU GDPR / India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act once applicable obligations apply to this operator), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data I hold, or to complain to a supervisory authority.
To exercise rights regarding data I hold, email [PLACEHOLDER: contact email].
For data held only by Payhip, Amazon, GitHub, or an analytics vendor, contact that organisation directly as well.
International hosting
GitHub Pages content and logs may be processed in the United States and other countries where GitHub / Microsoft operate. Do not use this site to submit sensitive personal data.
Changes
Material changes will be reflected by updating the Last updated date on this page.
